Downtown Miami
Downtown Miami is Miami's glittering urban center, a neighborhood shaped by a fantastic skyline best admired from the waters of Biscayne Bay and a diverse population that has come together in the city's financial powerhouse. About 20 years ago, people only went to Downtown Miami to work, but today, it also offers plenty of opportunities for entertainment and recreation.
The real estate landscape in Downtown Miami benefitted from the influx of new residents, too. New skyscrapers that shimmer under the Floridian sun rose, housing a wide range of contemporary dwellings. These range from modest studios to luxury penthouses with floor-to-ceiling windows and incredible views of the Atlantic. A movement to refurbish Downtown Miami's existing apartment buildings is also under way, adding more stock to the housing market. To date, average sale prices in Downtown Miami hover around the $575,000 mark.
Dine, drink, party, or just relax— Downtown Miami will not disappoint. It is also easy to get around, with the neighborhood being compact and highly walkable. For those who prefer a faster way of traveling from one point to another, Downtown Miami is served by the Citi Bikes program. Hourly rentals and memberships are available. Some local points of interest include History Miami Museum, the largest facility of its kind in Florida. Located nearby is Lummus Park. Covering nearly six acres, it is said to be the first urban park in Miami. Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) along the waterfront pays homage to modern and contemporary art. PAMM is located within the 21-acre Maurice A. Ferré Park, which also plays host to another attraction: the Frost Museum.
